Bishop Wilton Show Horse Classes

Hi, at last I've got some more classes for you, horses to start with, dogs and childrens coming up. If you aren't horsey but know some-one who is, why not point them in this direction, the show has around 3000 people thru the gates, so well worth attending.

HORSE CLASSES

Ponies Association (UK)
Qualification is open to members and non-members of P (UK). 1st 2nd and 3rd placed horses/ponies in each Summer National Championship Qualifying Class will qualify for the 2010 P(UK) Summer National Championships. Qualification will pass no lower than 3rd place.
To validate your qualification, competitors are required to register your horse/pony & become members within 14 days with Ponies (UK) for your qualification to remain valid.
FINALS TO BE HELD AT: Newark and Notts Showground, Winthorpe, Newark 11th – 14th August 2010. Qualification cards will not be presented in the ring

P (UK) Pollyanna Home Produced Championships:
These classes are open to Horses and Ponies that have been stabled at home since 1st August 2010. DIY Livery is acceptable providing it is not the establishment of a Professional Show Produced/Trainer. Horses/Ponies entering these Championships must be owned, produced, ridden or led by the owner/spouse or his/her son/daughter/grandchild. It is expected that exhibitors will enter into the true spirit of this competition. The Directors reserve the right in, their absolute discretion, to refuse an exhibitor’s entry should they be in contravention of this rule in the Directors’ considered opinion.
All riders/handlers must apply to become either junior/senior Riders Club members within 14 days of qualification in order for the qualification for the Summer Pollyanna Championships to remain valid. Trainers and professional producers must not enter the judging arena at any time. 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed ponies/horses in all 2010 Summer Pollyanna Home Produced Qualifiers will qualify for the 2010 P(UK) Summer Championships.

All classes: 1st £12; second £6; 3rd £4; 4th Rosette. Entry fee £5.00.
Closing date Monday 5th July 2010. Late entries and entries on the day £7.00

HUNTER BREEDING CLASSES
RING 3 commencing at 9am
Judge: Mr J Lloyd, Saddleworth, West Yorkshire
• 1st and 2nd prize winners in classes 2 to 4 go forward to the Pony Breeding Championship
Class 1 Brood mare with own foal at foot, or potential broodmare, not exceeding 148cm for riding ponies type and 153cm for WHP or SHP type.
Class 2 Foal out of the above mare.
Class 3 Yearling colt, gelding or filly yearling. Not to exceed 153cm at maturity.
Class 4 2 or 3 year old gelding or filly, Not to exceed 153cm at maturity.
• 1st and 2nd prize winners in classes 6 to 8 go forward to the Hunter Breeding Championship
Class 5 Brood mare exceeding 148cm with foal at foot, or mare with potential to become a broodmare in the future.
Class 6 Colt or filly foal out of the above mare.
Class 7 Colt, gelding or filly yearling to exceed 148cm at maturity
Class 8 Gelding or filly, 2 and 3 years old to exceed 148cm at maturity

RIDDEN CLASSES
RING 3 commencing at 10.30 approximately
Judge: Mr J Lloyd, Saddleworth, West Yorkshire
• 1st and 2nd prize winners of classes 9 to 12 go forward to the Novice Hunter/Open Hunter/Riding Horse/Ridden Cob Championship.
Class 9 Novice hunter 4 years old and over, exceeding 153cm. Not to have won a first prize in any Ridden showing class. This class will be split if sufficient entries.
Class 10 Open hunter gelding or mare, 4 years old and over, exceeding 153cm. Rider 16 years and over.
Class 11 Riding horse 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cm. Rider 15 years and over.
• Special Rosette and £5 to the leading rider living within a 5 mile radius of Bishop Wilton.
Class 12 Open ridden cob mare or gelding, 4 years old and over exceeding 148cm but not exceeding 155cm. Rider 15 years and over.
Class 13 Ridden Veteran Horse or Pony 15 years and over. Rider any age.
Class 14 Retrained racehorse - open to horses aged 4 years and over that have either raced or been in training with a registered trainer for at least 3 months. The class will be judged as a show class and the judge may ride.

RIDDEN CLASSES
RING 3 commencing at 2pm approximately
Judge: Mrs C Senior, Birstall, West Yorkshire
Class 15 Open ridden Piebald/Skewbald stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age.
Qualifier for the S30 Ponies (UK) Commanchee Ridden Piebald/Skewbald Horse/Pony Summer Championship.
Class 16 Ridden Competition Horse or Pony stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age.
Qualifier for the S29 Ponies (UK) Ridden Competition/Dressage Horse/Pony Summer Championship.

IN HAND CLASSES
RING 4 commencing at 9am
Judge: Mrs C Senior, Birstall, West Yorkshire
Class 20 Lead rein pony. Mare or gelding 4 years old and over not exceeding 128cm. Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Open to any type of pony suitable for the lead rein. To be shown in snaffle bridles. Lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.
Class 21 First Ridden. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over not exceeding 128cm. Rider not to have attained their 11th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Open to any type of pony suitable as First Ridden.
Class 22 Mixed Height Show Pony. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over not exceeding 148cm. Rider to be correct age for height of pony they ride.
Qualifier for the S15 Ponies (UK) Brineton Ridden Show Pony Summer Championship
Class 23 Mixed Height Show Hunter Pony. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over not exceeding 153cm. Rider to be correct age for height of pony they ride.
Qualifier for the S18 Ponies (UK) Timberwolf S H P of the Year Summer Championship.
Class 24 Home Produced SP/SHP. Mare or gelding. 4 years old or over not exceeding 153cm. Riders any age.
Qualifier for the HP3 Ponies (UK) Pollyanna Home Produced Ridden Riding Pony Summer Championship.

MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND
RING 4 to commence at 1pm approximately
Judge: Mrs E M Wray, Carlton, Yorks
• All entries in these classes to be registered in their respective pure bred society stud books.
• All foals to be over three weeks old on the day of the show.
• 1st and 2nd prize winners of classes 25 to 29 to go forward to the In Hand Section Championship.
• 1st and 2nd prize winners of classes 30 to 34 to go forward to the M & M Ridden Section Championship.
• The Highest placed Dartmoor in each of the above named championships is eligible for the Dartmoor Society Special Rosette. Membership card to be produced in the ring.

IN HAND CLASSES
Class 25 Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over.
Class 26 Foal out of the above mare.
Class 27 Yearling colt, filly or gelding.
Class 28 2 or 3 year old colt, filly or gelding.
Class 29 Home produced Mountain and Moorland ponies. All ages, stallions, colts, fillies, mares or geldings registered in their respective pure breed societies.
Qualifier for the HP2 Ponies (UK) Pollyanna Home Produced M&M in hand Summer Championship.

RIDDEN CLASSES
Class 30 Leading rein class – mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 122cms. Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Welsh A or B. Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle, the lead rein attached to the noseband only.
Qualifier for the S08 Ponies (UK) Lobster Pot M&M Leading Rein Summer Championship.
Class 31 First ridden – mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cm. Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest and Welsh A and B. Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be shown in any suitable bridle.
Qualifier for the S10 Ponies (UK) Brineton M&M First Ridden Summer Championship.
Class 32 Ridden – small breeds, stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Welsh A and B, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland. Rider any age.
Class 33 Ridden – large breeds, stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Welsh C and D, Connemara, New Forest, Dales, Fell, Highland. Rider any age.
• Classes 32 & 33 are qualifiers for the S05 Ponies (UK) Kingsford M&M Ridden Pony of the Year Summer Championship. (Please see Rule 7 of the 2010 Rule Book.)
Class 34 Ridden Junior Mountain and Moorland mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Riders for Small Breeds not to have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year; riders for Large Breeds not to have attained their 18th birthday before 1st January of the current year.
Qualifier for the S07 Ponies (UK) Dalkeith Young Riders’ M & M Ridden Summer Championship.

UNAFFILIATED FUN CLASSES
RING 2 Starting at approximately 9am.
Judge: Mrs S Dace BHSAI, Bishop Wilton
Open to all horses & ponies & riders of all ages. Horses and ponies will not be judged on conformation
• Classes are open to plaited and unplaited Horses/Ponies
• Stallions to be kept under control at ALL times and not to be led or ridden by children under 14 years.
• Classes will be run under PoniesUK rules
Class 40 Tack and Turnout open to horses/ponies, riders any age. If sufficient entries class will be split into (a) Grass kept and (b) Stable kept.
Class 41 Equitation class. Judged on style, control and effectiveness in all three paces.
Class 42 Best Condition in hand, open to horses/ponies, any age.
Class 43 Horse or Pony the judge would most like to take home.
