The 114th BISHOP WILTON Show 21st July 2012

Due to severe wet weather the show field is too wet for use to host this year’s show.
The Wolds Half Marathon will run as previously arranged including car parking and start-finishing times.
The Childrens Classes No 350 to 399 will be re-located to Bishop Wilton Hall. Entries as per the schedule to be made by 9:30 judging 11:00am – 1:00pm approx. Tea...... & Coffee refreshments will be available 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
Please come and support this, we will still have the Morley Exotic Animal Rescue Team with their wonderful array of creatures to handle, come and cuddle a meerkat or stroke a spider, have a look at their website to find out more about them.

Please note that there will be restricted parking at the Village Hall due to a pre-booked cricket match taking place, there is ample street parking around the village.

It is with regret that we have had to cancel all other areas of the show due to the current state of the Show field.

Looking to the future next year’s show will be on Saturday 20th July 2013.
We would like to thank all our supporters of the show and hope that next year will be drier.
Thank you
Bishop Wilton Show Committee

Bishop Wilton Show 2010

The day came and went, if you were with us I hope you had a good time.......the rain is really just part of the day.

Ridgeside Falconry, bringing with them 15 birds of prey -a first for us this year- provided the most popular entertainment at the 112th Bishop Wilton Show and Craft Fair, visitors took part in the displays involving Vultures and Harris Hawks. Over 2000 people came to enjoy the day and brave the rain showers, there was plenty of space in the marquees to give shelter during the inevitable occasional downpours. The new members marquee proved very popular, the bar provided by UK Bars -bringing with them 10 real ales- was very well attended and was far more spacious than in previous years, providing ample room for all our new members. The Al Pacas -another first- also proved very popular, along with the Terrier Racing, Children's Sports, Hounds and Beagles.
There were plenty of bargains to be found in the Craft and Local Produce marquee and of course even more out on the trade stands. The crowds were entertained by the Driffield Silver Band, The Ebor Morris Dancers and The Army Cadet Drum Core. The day finished with Billy Leonard singing a selection of country and folk songs in the members marquee.

Trophy Winners:
Best Exhibit in Cookery -Ruth Sampson with her Chocolate Cake
Ruth Walker Memorial trophy for overall winner in the Handicraft section- Alison Easson
Dorothy Denton Cup WI member -Stella Stubbs
Gazette and Herald Cup -Stella Stubbs
Lucan Pratt Memorial Trophy -Ian Hardcastle
All other results will be on the website soon www.bishopwiltonshow.co.uk
Horse Trophies will be added as soon as I get the list.
The committee are already working towards next years show which is set to be on Saturday the 16th July 2011, and would like to thank everyone that came along to support and enjoy the day and also those who gave there time before, during and after.
Without our volunteers there would be no Show.
