Bishop Wilton Show 2010
The day came and went, if you were with us I hope you had a good time.......the rain is really just part of the day.
Ridgeside Falconry, bringing with them 15 birds of prey -a first for us this year- provided the most popular entertainment at the 112th Bishop Wilton Show and Craft Fair, visitors took part in the displays involving Vultures and Harris Hawks. Over 2000 people came to enjoy the day and brave the rain showers, there was plenty of space in the marquees to give shelter during the inevitable occasional downpours. The new members marquee proved very popular, the bar provided by UK Bars -bringing with them 10 real ales- was very well attended and was far more spacious than in previous years, providing ample room for all our new members. The Al Pacas -another first- also proved very popular, along with the Terrier Racing, Children's Sports, Hounds and Beagles.
There were plenty of bargains to be found in the Craft and Local Produce marquee and of course even more out on the trade stands. The crowds were entertained by the Driffield Silver Band, The Ebor Morris Dancers and The Army Cadet Drum Core. The day finished with Billy Leonard singing a selection of country and folk songs in the members marquee.
